About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the General, Regulatory, and Management & Services (M&S) accounting teams.
  • Ensure accurate and timely execution of all accounting activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage regulatory accounting entries, assets/liabilities roll-forwards, and deferred cost tracking in accordance with ASC 980.
  • Support Rates and Regulatory Affairs (RRA) during rate case proceedings with financial data and analysis.
  • Partner with FP&A, Tax, and business unit leaders to provide accounting insights for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and manage the annual audit process.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across accounting functions.
  • Strengthen the internal control environment in partnership with Internal Control and Compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Proven experience managing accounting teams and leading month-end/year-end close processes in a multi-entity environment.
  • Deep expertise in US GAAP and IFRS, specifically regarding ASC 980 (Regulated Operations).
  • Experience with the implementation of State Public Utility Commission Rate Orders.
  • Strong ability to influence C-suite executives and diverse stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
