About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, analysis, testing, and documentation of digital electronics circuit card assemblies (CCAs).
- Define circuit card level architecture and assist with requirements decomposition and trade studies.
- Design systems including embedded processors, FPGAs, memories, and high-speed interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, SPI, and UART.
- Partner with ECAD drafters on stackup definition, pre/post-route simulation (SI/PI), layout, and routing activities.
- Plan and execute integration and verification activities within engineering laboratories.
- Provide product testing, troubleshooting, and root cause failure investigation support.
- Manage schedules for circuit card level tasks to ensure execution meets planned budget and timelines.
- Mentor junior engineers and lead small design teams or individual design projects.
Requirements
- STEM degree (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics).
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in digital electronic circuit design.
- Proven experience with processors, FPGAs, high-speed transceivers, DDR, and flash memories.
- Expertise in schematic capture and circuit board layout CAD packages.
- Proficiency using standard laboratory equipment for hardware integration and verification testing.
- U.S. Citizenship is required.
- An active DoD Secret security clearance is required after day 1.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
- Experience with Siemens Xpedition (xDX Designer, xPCB Layout, or Hyperlynx).
- Experience with complex circuit card assemblies (16 to 32 layers).
- Knowledge of embedded test techniques, design for test (DFT), and design for manufacturing (DFM).
- Familiarity with FPGA code development or software development.
- Experience with project management tools such as Agile or Earned Value.
