About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide in-depth digital forensic analysis of mobile devices, electronic storage, cloud, server, and personal computer systems
- Conduct forensic examinations of digital evidence using scientific best practices for criminal and civil law purposes
- Perform forensic analysis of operating systems including Android, Apple iOS/MAC, Microsoft Windows, and Linux
- Analyze file systems such as APFS, NTFS, ExFAT, HFS/+, EXT2/3/4, and FAT/FAT32
- Utilize industry-standard tools including Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Oxygen Forensic Detective, EnCase, and X-Ways
- Provide on-scene support during search warrants, including evidence collection and chain-of-custody procedures
- Produce comprehensive reports and illustrative exhibits for judicial proceedings
- Provide expert witness testimony to explain forensic conclusions to lay audiences
- Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutors, and government stakeholders
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum 9 years of experience (or 7 years with a Master's degree)
- Proven experience as a digital forensic examiner in a laboratory setting
- Possession of at least one approved certification (e.g., GCFE, GASF, CFCE, ICMDE, BCERT, MDE, CDFE, CDMC, EnCE, CCME, OFC, or MCFE)
- In-depth knowledge of mobile hardware, third-party applications, and various operating systems
- Experience with on-scene triaging and digital evidence handling during search and seizure
- Proficiency with forensic software like Magnet Axiom, Cellebrite, Nuix, and GrayKey
- Ability to travel for on-scene seizures, training, or testimony
- U.S. citizenship required
- Ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance and eventually a final Top-Secret clearance
