About the role

Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and cultivate major gift prospects to support the university's mission and the Defy Gravity campaign
  • Develop and implement tailored fundraising initiatives and stewardship programs for gifts of $50,000 and above
  • Meet face-to-face with current and potential donors to discuss giving interests and strategic opportunities
  • Write donor-facing materials including funding proposals, acknowledgements, recognition communications, and briefing notes
  • Collaborate with academic leaders, senior volunteers, and advancement colleagues to structure gift opportunities
  • Manage sensitive and confidential information while tracking donor interactions through detailed call reports and solicitation plans

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or an acceptable combination of equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a staff fundraising role
  • Proven track record of managing a substantial pool of major gift donors
  • Demonstrated experience in the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of donors at the $50,000+ level
  • Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and decision-making skills in complex environments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment with occasional evening and weekend flexibility
