Senior Development Officer, Foundations

MSF USA is one of 24 sections supporting the global movement, primarily through staff recruitment, fundraising, advocacy, and communications.

Responsibilities

• Create, oversee, and execute the overall strategy to raise funds from US-based professional foundations
• Manage a personal portfolio of professional foundations, identifying and growing strategic relationships
• Develop proposals and funding relationships around priority MSF activities
• Supervise the Sr. Associate, Foundations and the Development Officer for Foundations
• Implement relationship management plans for strategic, complex potential and existing accounts
• Oversee the implementation and maintenance of the donor relationship management system
• Drive and secure donor renewals through exceptional service interactions

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of successful fundraising experience (Foundations, Corporations, or Major Donors)
• Minimum 2 years of staff management experience
• Proven track record in donor cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation
• Deep knowledge of the foundation world and its functioning
• Experience with donor databases and contact management
• Proficiency with spreadsheets, budgets, and forecasting
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to handle a large volume of work under pressure

Preferred Qualifications

• French language skills
• Spanish language skills
• Knowledge of and strong interest in international humanitarian affairs
