Senior Development Manager, Middleware

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 8–12 engineers, owning sprint planning, backlog health, and quarterly roadmap commitments.
• Provide technical guidance and career development for direct reports through regular 1:1s and performance management.
• Serve as an escalation point for production incidents and partner with Solution Architects on API governance and platform evolution.
• Champion AI-assisted development by establishing standards for AI tooling and incorporating AI-augmented workflows into engineering practices.
• Drive hiring and team composition, including candidate assessment and onboarding for FTE and staff augmentation engineers.
• Collaborate with peer managers in Mobile, Web, and QE to align delivery priorities and resolve cross-team blockers.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in an engineering management or senior technical lead role.
• Hands-on experience with AWS serverless architectures (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, EventBridge).
• Proficiency in Node.js or TypeScript.
• Strong understanding of REST API design, OpenAPI specification, and OAuth 2.0/JWT authentication.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP).
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing hybrid teams consisting of FTEs and staff augmentation vendors.
• Background in QSR, restaurant technology, or high-volume consumer e-commerce platforms.
• Experience with AWS Cognito, identity federation, or OAuth/OIDC platform migrations.
• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Developer) or relevant Adobe Experience Cloud certifications.
