Senior Developer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack applications using C#/.NET and modern JavaScript frameworks
• Lead technical design discussions and contribute to architectural decisions
• Translate client business requirements into technical solutions and system design documents
• Build and optimize data-driven features using Microsoft SQL Server, including stored procedures and performance tuning
• Perform code reviews and uphold coding standards and automated testing practices
• Mentor junior and intermediate developers through pairing and technical guidance
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment
• Work with health sector clients to troubleshoot issues and scope enhancements
• Contribute to CI/CD, source control workflows, and DevOps tooling
• Adopt modern productivity tools including AI-assisted development tools

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification
• Minimum 5 years of commercial experience in full-stack .NET development
• Strong C# and .NET skills (ASP.NET Core, Web API, Entity Framework, MVC, AJAX)
• Front-end experience with Angular or React and HTML/CSS/JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong Microsoft SQL Server skills including complex queries and performance tuning
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
• Experience with automated testing frameworks like xUnit or NUnit
• Strong communication skills for technical documentation and stakeholder management
• Must be living in New Zealand with the right to work

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior lead or senior developer experience with technical ownership
• Hands-on experience with cloud applications
• Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot, Claude, or Cursor
