Senior Desktop Engineer

Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor the University's user device environment, including the development and administration of a standard operating environment.
• Ensure compliance with Essential 8 and Further 5 security standards.
• Manage the monthly desktop operating system patching cycle in line with policy and best practice.
• Collaborate with University IT teams and stakeholders to monitor, maintain, and manage the desktop environment and applications.
• Resolve incidents and problems, action change requests, and ensure high-quality service delivery.

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent competency.
• Demonstrated experience with desktop deployment and management solutions for Windows, Linux, and Mac platforms.
• Substantial experience providing support and troubleshooting for teaching and research solutions and applications.
• Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with modern device management tools, specifically Microsoft Intune.
• Demonstrated experience in software development maintenance, customer support, and technical knowledge base management.
