Senior Design Technologist, AI Tooling

Responsibilities

• Build high-fidelity, interactive prototypes to bring speculative and near-term product ideas to life
• Use AI tooling and front-end code (HTML/CSS/JavaScript, React) to build micro-interactions and internal tools
• Build custom AI API integrations, structured outputs, and workflows that integrate with design tokens and components
• Create surface templates and prompting frameworks to accelerate prototyping experimentation
• Partner with Design System and Accessibility teams to develop augmentation tools
• Define Superhuman's approach to AI-native design, including interaction patterns and design principles

Requirements

• 8+ years in creative technology, design engineering, interaction design, or advanced prototyping
• Experience building interactive experiences powered by LLMs (Claude, OpenAI, or Gemini APIs)
• Proficiency in Figma (Variables, Advanced Prototyping, Plugins API, REST API)
• Strong front-end development skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and React
• Experience with AI API integration including streaming, prompt engineering, and structured outputs
• Deep understanding of design tokens, theming systems, and component architecture
• Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)
• Familiarity with motion and interaction tools like Framer Motion, After Effects, or Lottie

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building or fine-tuning LLM-powered features, agents, or tool-use flows
• Familiarity with WebGL, Three.js, Spline, or generative/creative coding
• Background in product design, front-end engineering, or UX research
