Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Support Plutonium Facilities Engineering Rapid Response Team in electrical or civil/structural engineering disciplines
• Perform facility design, operation, and maintenance activities
• Prepare complex engineering analyses using diversified engineering principles
• Conduct conventional design, analysis, and provide construction and project support
• Lead projects and supervise the work of others as required

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
• Minimum of 9 years of practical work experience
• Expert knowledge of DOE/NNSA complex codes and standards (ASCE, ASME, NQA-1, IBC, IEBC, IEEE, NFPA, NEC, etc.)
• Extensive experience facilitating design package development
• Ability to receive and hold a DOE Q clearance
• Ability to participate in the Human Reliability Program (HRP)
• US citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced engineering or technical degree
• Experience with common computer aided drafting or mark-up software
