Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall design, analysis, documentation, and functional validation of mechanical components and assemblies
• Drive validation of concepts via early analysis, prototyping, and testing
• Design, implement, and drive to completion complex system DoEs spanning EE, ME, FW, and SW
• Execute root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for build issues and reliability testing
• Conduct rapid feasibility studies for mechanical robustness, schedule, and cost
• Work directly with CM or prototyping partners to support system assembly build activities
• Facilitate design reviews and travel to support manufacturing builds

Requirements

• 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience in product design, new product release, test engineering, or manufacturing support
• Expertise in 3D MCAD (Solidworks or Onshape preferred)
• Experience designing consumer products using cosmetic plastic molding and metal parts (sheet metal, CNC, extrusion)
• Experience developing products integrating electro-mechanical components like flex circuits, batteries, and antennas
• Familiarity with Statistical Analysis, DoE, FEA, CFD, Thermal Design, DFMEA, and DFA
• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on maker mentality for rapid prototyping in a lab environment
• Functional proficiency in Python for data acquisition and sensor-log analysis
• Ability to navigate and modify existing firmware branches
• Interest in fluid dynamics or food-contact consumer product architecture
