Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design packages and provide technical oversight for complex infrastructure works
• Prepare structural and civil engineering calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
• Develop permanent works solutions for shafts, retaining walls, slabs, foundations, and reinforced concrete structures
• Coordinate with geotechnical, construction, and temporary works teams
• Support constructability reviews, value engineering, and NEC4 contract administration
• Work in accordance with BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 standards and CDM 2015 regulations
• Review and approve design calculations and multidisciplinary deliverables
• Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 6–10 years of experience within infrastructure, structural, or tunnelling design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis software
• Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, BS standards, and UK infrastructure requirements
• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design
• Working towards or holding Chartered status with ICE or IStructE

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with tunnelling interfaces including shafts, sprayed concrete linings, and underground structures
• Proficiency in Tekla, Revit, or Robot Structural Analysis
• Experience managing design risk and design assurance processes
