Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead multidisciplinary design packages and provide technical oversight for complex infrastructure works
• Prepare structural and civil engineering calculations and drawings
• Develop permanent works solutions for shafts, retaining walls, slabs, foundations, and reinforced concrete structures
• Coordinate with geotechnical, construction, and temporary works teams
• Support constructability reviews and value engineering exercises
• Work in accordance with BIM Level 2 / ISO 19650 standards
• Comply with CDM 2015 regulations and company HSEQ procedures
• Support NEC4 contract administration and change management activities
• Prepare technical specifications, design reports, and assurance documentation
• Review and approve design calculations and multidisciplinary deliverables
• Provide mentoring and technical support to junior engineers

Requirements

• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• 6–10 years experience in infrastructure, structural, or tunnelling design
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and structural analysis software
• Experience with reinforced concrete and steel design to Eurocodes
• Knowledge of tunnelling interfaces including shafts and sprayed concrete linings
• Understanding of Eurocodes, BS standards, and UK infrastructure requirements
• Working towards or holding Chartered status with ICE or IStruct

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using Tekla, Revit, or Robot Structural Analysis
