Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive part design and redesign for aerospace and defense hardware including propulsion, thermal management, valves, and turbomachinery
• Lead first-principles part redesigns using additive manufacturing to enable new geometries and consolidated assemblies
• Define and evaluate design concepts regarding materials, tolerances, and structural behavior
• Serve as a senior technical resource for design tradeoffs and production scalability
• Partner with internal engineering and operations teams to drive feasibility and execution
• Lead technical engagements with customer engineering teams to present design solutions
• Shape the company's product and technology roadmap through technical leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, or high-performance industries
• Experience leading complex hardware programs from concept through production
• Expertise in designing propulsion, thermal, fluid, or turbomachinery systems
• Deep systems-level understanding of complex mechanical hardware

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in aerospace or defense engineering
• Familiarity with metal 3D printing or Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM)
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical direction
• Proven ability to carry hardware through qualification and production ramp
