Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Drive part design and redesign across energy hardware including turbines, heat exchangers, and fluid handling systems
• Develop deep component-level understanding of requirements and performance drivers
• Lead first-principles part redesigns using additive manufacturing to enable new geometries
• Define and evaluate design concepts with command of materials, tolerances, and thermal behavior
• Serve as a senior technical resource to resolve advanced design and production questions
• Partner with internal engineering and operations teams to drive feasibility and execution
• Lead technical engagements with customer engineering teams to establish credibility
• Identify and champion new application spaces for Freeform technology

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related technical discipline
• 5+ years of experience in power generation, oil & gas, nuclear, or renewable energy
• Proven ability to lead complex hardware programs from concept through production
• Experience designing turbomachinery, thermal systems, or high-performance structural components
• Deep systems-level understanding of complex mechanical hardware

Preferred Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in advanced energy industries
• Familiarity with metal 3D printing or Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM)
• Experience mentoring engineers and providing technical direction
• Strong first-principles reasoning and ability to operate in ambiguous environments
