Senior Design Engineer

Responsibilities

• Create detailed design packages including fabrication drawings, calculations, and operation manuals
• Perform steel design and structural analysis tasks
• Develop and review 3D models and technical drawings for equipment assemblies
• Create and review calculation packages for relevant load cases
• Develop and review mockup and load test plans
• Estimate costs for design, fabrication, and testing projects
• Provide on-site technical assistance during lifting and rigging operations
• Mentor and lead a team of junior engineers
• Coordinate with fabrication shops on design optimization and material identification

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field from an ABET accredited university
• 5+ years of experience in structural or mechanical equipment design
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, or similar 3D modeling software
• Experience with calculation software such as RISA 3D, Ansys, or Mathcad
• Strong knowledge of OSHA, AISC, ASME, and ANSI standards
• Ability to visit job sites and work in outdoor or hazardous environments
• Must pass a drug test, fit for duty, and background check

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license
• OSHA 10 certification
• Experience in the crane, rigging, or heavy lift/transport industry
