Senior Design Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and design processes, design teams, and subcontractors throughout design, procurement, and construction
• Manage external consultants to ensure delivery within time, quality, and budget constraints
• Perform CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Design roles
• Review and interrogate consultant and subcontractor designs for compliance, buildability, and risk elimination
• Manage the project-specific design programme and provide regular progress reporting
• Coordinate technical workshops and design team meetings
• Ensure all building design aspects are coordinated, including fire safety, structures, M&E, and façades
• Manage change control processes for variations in relation to drawings, programmes, and costs
• Oversee document control and the flow of information to Commercial and Operations teams
• Conduct site visits and monitor work executed on site to ensure compliance with design specifications

Requirements

• Proven track record managing design and technical processes for residential buildings
• High-rise development experience
• Understanding of the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
• Strong technical knowledge to assess and monitor design work compliance
• Experience in designer scoping and procurement
• Ability to review drawings and identify buildability issues
• Valid driving licence
• Strong leadership and people management skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit)
• Knowledge of BIM
• Knowledge of PAS9980 fire risk assessments, EWS1s, and FRAEW
• Membership of a professional body such as CIOB, CIAT, or RICS
• Minimum Level 4 (HNC/NVQ4) Architectural qualification or equivalent
• Knowledge of temporary works
