Senior Design Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Lead technical and design processes, design teams, and subcontractors throughout design, procurement, and construction
• Ensure design coordination and compliance with regulations and company requirements
• Manage external consultants, including fee monitoring and invoicing
• Fulfil CDM Principal Designer and Building Regulations Principal Design roles
• Review and interrogate consultant and subcontractor designs for compliance, buildability, and accuracy
• Manage the project-specific design programme and provide regular progress reporting
• Coordinate technical workshops, package reviews, and design team meetings
• Oversee document control and the flow of information to Commercial, Operations, and Client teams
• Conduct site visits and attend project meetings to monitor work execution
• Manage change control processes for variations in relation to drawings, programmes, and costs

Requirements

• Proven track record managing design and technical processes for residential buildings
• High rise development experience
• Understanding of the Building Safety Act and Building Regulations
• Strong technical knowledge to assess and monitor design work compliance
• Experience in designer scoping
• Ability to lead, coordinate, and manage direct reports
• Valid driving licence
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Architectural qualification (Minimum Level 4 HNC/NVQ4 or equivalent)
• Experience with CAD (AutoCAD or Revit)
• Knowledge of BIM
• Membership of a professional body such as CIOB, CIAT, or RICS
• Knowledge of PAS9980 fire risk assessments, EWS1s, and FRAEW
• Experience producing and managing design programmes
