Senior Design/Commissioning Manager - Data Centers

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage multi-disciplinary design and commissioning teams across utilities, MEP, building services, power, water, and fire protection systems
• Oversee technical design delivery, including design reviews, coordination workshops, constructability reviews, and interface resolution
• Ensure design deliverables comply with project scope, schedule, budget, quality requirements, and applicable codes
• Lead commissioning strategy, planning, execution, testing, verification, and operational handover activities
• Oversee the preparation of commissioning plans, test procedures, functional performance tests, and O&M manuals
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and regulatory authorities to resolve technical issues and secure approvals
• Support BIM and digital coordination, including clash detection, model reviews, and issue tracking
• Identify and mitigate design, commissioning, and operational readiness risks
• Mentor engineers and technical staff while promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in design, engineering, construction, or commissioning
• Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary technical teams on major infrastructure or complex capital projects
• Strong knowledge of MEP systems, building services, power, water, drainage, and building automation
• Demonstrated experience in design management, commissioning planning, and testing/verification
• Familiarity with BIM, digital engineering, and design coordination platforms
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in a related technical discipline
• Experience delivering major aviation, utilities, or data center projects
• Knowledge of sustainability, energy efficiency, and lifecycle asset performance
• Experience with design-build, PMC, or early contractor involvement
• Previous experience working in the GCC or Middle East regulatory environments
• Hands-on field experience in operations, maintenance, or trades
