About the role

Responsibilities

  • Execute automation opportunities from concept through production deployment
  • Support equipment mechanization and automation from business case to implementation
  • Improve equipment uptime through troubleshooting, design changes, and vendor partnerships
  • Develop processes to transition manufacturing from manual to automated operations
  • Collaborate with Advanced Manufacturing and sustaining engineering teams to integrate process changes
  • Document equipment requirements and review vendor designs for compliance
  • Support the full equipment life cycle, from development to sunsetting
  • Oversee installation and hypercare of electromechanical systems

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • OR Master's degree with minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
  • OR PhD with 0 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLC troubleshooting and optimization
  • Proficiency in mechanical and electrical design for automated equipment
  • Skills in programming with .NET or Python
  • Experience with robotics, cobots, and machine vision systems
  • Ability to utilize simulation tools to validate automation concepts
  • Background in systems engineering and machine building
