About the role
Responsibilities
- Perform testing procedures on analog, digital, and logic circuits, components, and instruments to ensure accurate results.
- Operate and utilize test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and power supplies with precision.
- Troubleshoot test failures and manufactured products to a functional block or component level.
- Perform test system adjustments, alignments, and preventive maintenance to ensure high-quality laboratory operations.
- Assemble, repair, and maintain test systems and fixtures according to assembly drawings and instructions.
- Conduct performance testing to validate compliance with internal and external industry standards.
- Train and mentor operators and junior technicians on proper equipment use and test systems.
- Construct complex circuits from schematic diagrams and perform hand-soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components.
- Develop and release simple to moderately complex test procedures and reports.
- Record and analyze test and measurement data in spreadsheets to ensure data integrity.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Electrical Technology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3+ years of experience as a laboratory technician or in a similar technical role.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems to the component level.
- Hands-on experience with standard laboratory test equipment and measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in reading schematic diagrams and performing through-hole and surface-mount soldering.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a detail-oriented approach to technical work.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a laboratory technician.
- Experience supporting product validation in a regulated or standards-driven industry.
- Familiarity with automated test systems and basic software modification or scripting.
- Proven ability to contribute to process improvements and drive innovative solutions.
