Senior Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and maintenance for Microsoft SQL Server 2019/2022 databases
• Perform administration, design, performance analysis, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Troubleshoot challenging performance issues and develop proactive measures
• Work with engineering teams to automate reactive procedures
• Perform database code reviews and enforce best practices
• Design and implement systems for backup and disaster recovery
• Monitor ongoing capacity and implement architecture changes for global availability
• Participate in on-call rotations as part of a follow-the-sun team

Requirements

• 5+ years of Database Administration experience supporting mission-critical relational databases
• Extensive experience with MS SQL 2019 or above
• Proficiency in performance tuning, optimization, and database internals
• Proficiency working in OLTP database environments
• Experience configuring MSSQL replication and Availability Groups
• Full systems lifecycle experience from requirements to delivery
• Experience with high-volume, large-scale database systems
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems (OLTP/DW MPP)
• Programming experience with C#/.NET
• AWS database management, OLAP, or PostgreSQL experience
• Experience with database design for compliance programs like SOX or PCI
