Senior Database Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and engineer hybrid cloud-native data solutions spanning relational, columnar, and NoSQL engines
• Architect cloud-native data lakehouse platforms on AWS using S3, Lake Formation, and Glue
• Implement Medallion Architecture patterns to support raw ingestion and curated analytics
• Build automated schema migration pipelines and data versioning workflows integrated into CI/CD
• Engineer ELT/ETL and streaming data pipelines using AWS-native services, dbt, and Airflow
• Design and optimize DynamoDB schemas using single-table design patterns
• Apply AI/ML techniques to data architecture for intelligent quality validation and anomaly detection
• Build and manage all data infrastructure as code using Terraform and AWS CDK
• Implement enterprise-grade data governance, including RBAC and field-level encryption

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in database platform engineering or cloud infrastructure
• Proven experience with multi-engine database platforms (SQL and NoSQL)
• Deep expertise with AWS RDS, Aurora, and DynamoDB
• Strong hands-on experience with Snowflake performance tuning and cost optimization
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL data modeling
• Experience building ELT/ETL pipelines with dbt, Airflow, or AWS Glue
• Proficiency with Terraform and Python (boto3, SQLAlchemy)
• Experience integrating database workflows into CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS certifications (Database Specialty, Solutions Architect, or Data Engineer)
• Snowflake SnowPro certification
• Experience with Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi
• Hands-on experience with SageMaker Feature Store or MLOps workflows
• Familiarity with data observability platforms like Monte Carlo or Great Expectations
