Senior Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, upgrade, migrate, and patch RDBMS databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server in on-prem and AWS environments.
• Provide L3 production support and serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting complex database management issues.
• Design, test, and implement Disaster Recovery scenarios and backup/restore processes.
• Write and maintain Unix shell scripts to automate database administration tasks.
• Perform performance tuning, capacity planning, and proactive monitoring to prevent production errors.
• Collaborate with Global System Admins, Product Development, QA, and DevSecOps teams.
• Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation (approximately one week per month).

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience managing multiple, high-volume, multi-terabyte production databases.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL Server.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services, including RDS, Aurora, and CloudWatch.
• Proficiency in Unix shell scripting and SQL.
• Proven ability in performance tuning, capacity planning, and root cause analysis.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Data Engineering.

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Data Warehouse (DW) and BI Reporting.
• Experience with Splunk and CI/CD automation/database deployment tools.
• Knowledge of data modeling and normalization techniques.
• Experience migrating on-prem databases to the AWS cloud with minimal downtime.
