About the role
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, manage, and tune SQL Server environments (SQL 2K through SQL 2025)
- Define SQL Server architecture and implement high-availability environments using AlwaysOn, replication, and clustering
- Ensure system performance and reliability through index design, query execution plan reviews, and profiling tools
- Manage database backups to meet Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and test them to meet Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
- Monitor SQL Server capacity usage and perform growth planning
- Provision, install, and maintain Windows Server systems (2003 through 2019)
- Troubleshoot Windows processes, hardware, and operating system faults
- Document industry best practices, system procedures, and environment setups
Requirements
- 7.5 to 10 years of experience with SQL database administration and tuning
- Proficiency in SQL Server monitoring, capacity planning, and performance optimization
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Windows Server support and maintenance
- Experience with high-availability technologies including AlwaysOn, replication, and clustering
- Strong understanding of local/wide area networking protocols and concepts
- Proven troubleshooting skills for both database and Windows operating system issues
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with vendors and senior engineers
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with VMware or other virtualization technologies
- Background working within the semiconductor industry
- Excellent technical documentation skills
