Senior Database Administrator

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage highly available database environments
• Lead database migration projects across cloud and on-premises platforms
• Manage SQL Server performance tuning and capacity planning
• Configure and maintain HA/DR solutions including Always On Availability Groups
• Establish database standards, governance, and security policies
• Automate routine DBA tasks using PowerShell and automation tools
• Monitor database environments and proactively resolve issues
• Support audit, compliance, and security requirements
• Mentor junior DBAs and provide technical leadership
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams

Requirements

• 6+ years of database management experience
• Strong SQL Server Administration experience (2016/2019/2022)
• Hands-on experience with Azure SQL, Azure Managed Instance, and Azure VM
• Hands-on experience with AWS RDS, EC2, CloudWatch, and backup services
• Expertise in HA/DR, replication, clustering, and Always On
• Database performance tuning and query optimization
• Cloud migration and hybrid architecture experience
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Proficiency in PowerShell, T-SQL, and automation

Preferred Qualifications

• Azure Administrator or Azure Database certifications
• AWS Database Specialty or equivalent certification
• Experience with DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, and monitoring tools
• Exposure to multi-cloud database strategies
