Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of core personalization and recommendation algorithms to drive product experiences at scale
• Design and prepare high-quality data for personalization models, including data cleaning and feature selection
• Build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines to transform raw behavioral and transactional data into model features
• Optimize data architecture and processing frameworks to support both real-time and batch modeling needs
• Collaborate with Product and Engineering to ensure accurate instrumentation and feature tracking of user actions
• Develop and refine classification models to accurately categorize events and improve signal quality

Requirements

• 5+ years of full-time experience in data science or analytics engineering
• Expert proficiency in SQL and Python for data cleaning, feature engineering, and building production-ready pipelines
• Proven experience building or contributing to recommendation, ranking, or classification systems in production
• Experience working within an early-stage startup or building the foundation of a data team
• Strong ability to design experiments, interpret model performance, and communicate insights to stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud ML platforms such as AWS Personalize or SageMaker
• Experience working on consumer-facing products operating at significant scale
