Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design and develop smart manufacturing and AI solutions in advanced factory scheduling, optimization, and simulation.
• Develop high-quality data analytics and applications to provide actionable insights for management and manufacturing teams.
• Explore and apply new frontier ideas, concepts, and technologies to enable breakthrough solutions at Micron.
• Collaborate across global sites to identify opportunities and deliver holistic solutions to drive continuous improvement in production metrics.
• Drive global alignment and benchmarking of scheduling and simulation solutions.

Requirements

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, Data Science, or other quantitative disciplines.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in factory scheduling, optimization modeling, or simulation within a manufacturing or operations context.
• Strong emphasis on optimization, simulation, and algorithmic problem-solving.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse, global teams.
• Willingness to travel overseas as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of LP, MIP, or meta-heuristics.
• Experience with optimization tools such as CPLEX or Gurobi.
• Knowledge of discrete event simulation and reinforcement learning.
• Direct experience with factory scheduling.
