About the role

Responsibilities

  • Build GLM pricing models and machine learning models to support property and casualty insurance products
  • Synthesize data to uncover trends, assess business impact, and provide actionable recommendations
  • Research and implement appropriate statistical and mathematical methodologies for complex business problems
  • Perform data validation, preprocessing, and exploratory data analysis
  • Collaborate with global business partners to scope problems, gather requirements, and implement model solutions
  • Communicate analytical goals, approaches, and insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Develop adaptable modeling frameworks and reusable assets for various projects

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of professional experience building machine learning models
  • Proficiency in Python and PySpark with strong data analysis and modeling capabilities
  • Deep understanding of ML concepts including Supervised/Unsupervised Learning, Ensemble Techniques, and Hyperparameter tuning
  • Hands-on experience with GLM, Regression, Random Forest, and XGBoost
  • Expertise in Python machine learning libraries such as scikit-learn, h2o, or MLlib
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to research and apply new methodologies
  • Master's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, or Computer Science preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with data and machine learning services using Azure or Databricks
  • Knowledge of big data technologies and building data pipelines
  • Experience with visualization tools like Qlik, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Background in Actuarial Science or the insurance industry
