Senior Data Scientist

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning, NLP, and generative AI solutions to support scientific discovery.
• Build and optimize LLM-powered applications, including question answering, literature summarization, and semantic search.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems that connect AI models with trusted scientific and scholarly content.
• Create intelligent capabilities for search, ranking, recommendation, entity extraction, and classification.
• Design evaluation frameworks to measure the quality, reliability, and trustworthiness of AI models.
• Integrate knowledge graphs, ontologies, and taxonomies into AI workflows.
• Partner with engineering teams to produce, monitor, and optimize AI systems at scale.
• Mentor fellow data scientists and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and responsible AI.

Requirements

• Significant hands-on experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, or NLP.
• Advanced expertise in developing and deploying generative AI solutions in production environments.
• Extensive Python programming skills with a track record of building production-quality software.
• Experience designing and implementing RAG systems, semantic search, and vector retrieval.
• Proficiency with modern AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or Hugging Face.
• Experience working with large-scale unstructured and text-rich datasets.
• Deep understanding of machine learning fundamentals, including experimentation and statistical analysis.
