Senior Data Scientist, Analytics (Risk & Compliance)

Responsibilities

• Lead analytics and data design for priority regulatory reports, including financial crime and regulatory compliance returns.
• Partner with Regulatory Compliance, FCC, Finance, and Data Engineering to standardize common dimensions across reports.
• Work with Data Engineering to define automated test suites and manual QA playbooks for regulatory submissions.
• Implement snapshotting and versioning approaches to ensure historical reports can be consistently regenerated for audits or RFIs.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify root causes of anomalies or audit findings and propose remediation options.
• Shape requirements for a scalable regulatory reporting and risk analytics platform.
• Act as the primary analytics partner for cross-functional teams, turning open-ended questions into structured analytical roadmaps.
• Champion best practices in analytical rigor, documentation, and validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 5+ years of proven risk management experience, including analytics, modeling implementation, and stakeholder management.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience extracting and manipulating large datasets using SQL.
• Proficiency in scripting with Python, Shell, or R.
• Experience building data visualizations using Looker or Tableau.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical data topics to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience working on regulatory reporting within the risk and compliance domain.
• Familiarity with data modeling for fintech products such as payments, FX, wallets, cards, and lending.
• Exposure to model risk or AI/ML governance, including validation and monitoring.
• Experience working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams.
