Senior Data Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data platform infrastructure using Terraform and Azure services
• Optimize Databricks environments, including cluster configurations, job scheduling, and performance tuning
• Maintain and improve Unity Catalog configurations to ensure proper governance and access controls
• Provide technical guidance and best practices to data engineering teams
• Monitor platform performance and reliability, proactively resolving infrastructure issues
• Support the implementation of HIPAA compliance requirements across the multitenant data platform
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for data platform components
• Participate in on-call rotations to ensure platform availability and reliability

Requirements

• 5-7 years of data platform or infrastructure engineering experience
• Strong proficiency in Azure services including Databricks, SQL Server, EventHub, and Storage
• Hands-on experience with Databricks administration and Unity Catalog expertise
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and version control (Git)
• Strong Python and SQL skills for platform automation and troubleshooting
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices and HIPAA compliance requirements
• Experience with monitoring and alerting systems for large-scale data infrastructure
