Responsibilities

• Own the streaming data backbone by designing and operating high-throughput Kafka pipelines
• Build and maintain batch pipelines at scale using Spark for content ingestion and feature computation
• Drive pipeline observability through data quality checks, freshness monitors, and anomaly alerts
• Model structured and unstructured data to serve analytics and product use cases
• Partner with data scientists and platform engineers to drive infrastructure decisions
• Improve efficiency by reducing compute costs and job latency through optimization
• Raise the platform bar by contributing to shared infrastructure and mentoring junior engineers

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• 3+ years owning production pipelines in a distributed data environment
• Strong hands-on experience with Spark and Kafka at scale
• Experience with Hadoop, Presto/Trino, and Flink
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; Scala is a plus
• Experience in cloud environments, preferably AWS (S3, EMR, Glue, Redshift)
• BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent
