Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Profile, cleanse, reconcile, and document datasets to ensure data is decision-ready and reliable.
• Build and validate thin-slice data pipelines to support new, "tip-of-the-spear" applications.
• Guard data quality by setting up automated checks, audits, alerts, and tracking lineage.
• Automate repetitive manual analyses into maintainable workflows using SQL, Python, and orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt.
• Partner with product, engineering, and client teams to translate vague requirements into testable hypotheses and actionable metrics.
• Utilize AI to improve business functions, project delivery, and data mining processes.

Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in SQL (window functions, CTEs, performance tuning) and exploratory analysis.
• Strong experience with Python for turning data analysis into repeatable, automated jobs.
• Proven track record in data testing and validation (e.g., Great Expectations, dbt tests).
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses or lakes such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, or Athena.
• Familiarity with orchestration tools like Airflow or Prefect.
• Ability to connect technical data analysis to business KPIs, revenue, and customer impact.
