Senior Data Engineer

The Feature Platform Team builds the foundational infrastructure for ML Ads Recommendation, providing a unified, scalable architecture for computing, storing, and serving features.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of highly visible projects from ideation to production release
• Design, scale, and optimize core components of the Feature Store for batch, streaming, and low-latency on-demand computation
• Build and maintain mission-critical data pipelines spanning extensive batch processing and continuous real-time streams
• Develop and maintain high-load backend applications that power ML model serving with low latency
• Partner with Data Scientists to discover high-impact feature opportunities and with upstream teams to integrate new data signals
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams to guarantee reliability, security, and scalability

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience as a Data Engineer, ML Engineer, Backend Engineer, or similar in a high-scale environment
• Extensive hands-on experience with Flink or Spark at scale
• Advanced expertise in Python for ETL pipelines and custom SDKs
• Experience or willingness to work with Golang for high-performance backend applications
• Deep understanding of modern Data Lakehouse design, open table formats (e.g., Iceberg), and data modeling
• Strong hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS preferred)
• Solid grasp of ML production challenges including Feature Stores and training-serving skew
• Proficiency in system design regarding scalability, high availability, and low-latency API design

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Java for Flink streaming workloads
• Familiarity with DBT for data pipeline transformation
