Senior Data Engineer

About the Company

Translucent is building an agentic AI platform designed exclusively for healthcare finance. Founded in 2024 and backed by GV, NEA, FPV, and Virtue, the company provides AI Agents that help healthcare finance teams manage complex data, business logic, and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain abstracted data integration interfaces for healthcare data
• Capture and understand source-of-truth financial and clinical record models used by customers
• Optimize data ingestion and transformation pipelines for correctness, performance, and cost
• Build semantic understanding into core data systems to power agentic AI workflows
• Partner with platform engineers to build and maintain core data systems
• Validate data pipeline correctness and build rigor into integration test suites

Requirements

• 3-5+ years of post-university industry experience
• Strong SQL optimization experience in columnar data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift) or Databricks
• Strong Python skills including hands-on experience with pandas
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Prefect, Airflow, Dagster, Fivetran, or Airbyte
• Solid data modeling instincts and schema design skills
• Strong grounding in computation, logic, and algorithms
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (CS, Math, Stats, Engineering, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with GCP (BigQuery, GCS, Spanner, IAM)
• Prior exposure to healthcare data (claims, EHR, financial systems)
• Experience in forward-deployed, integrations, or solutions engineering roles
• Golang experience
• DBT experience
