Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using AWS and Snowflake
• Create curated datasets, data models, and data products to support analytics, reporting, and machine learning
• Debug and troubleshoot complex issues across a broad technical stack
• Partner with business stakeholders across Disney Parks and Resorts to implement optimal technical solutions
• Assist with architecture decisions, deployment, and continuous feedback in an Agile environment

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional data engineering experience in a cloud-based data warehouse environment
• Strong knowledge of Python and object-oriented programming (OOP)
• Proficiency with AWS services such as S3, Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, or similar
• Solid working experience with Snowflake native objects and features
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK
• Working knowledge of dbt (Data Build Tool)
• Proficiency with GitHub and modern developer productivity tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Java for troubleshooting and maintaining existing applications
• Experience with distributed computing and large-scale data processing challenges
• Strong understanding of data security protocols for big data pipelines at rest and in transit
