Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Develop, deploy, and maintain Big Data solutions to ingest, process, and store data
• Design batch or streaming dataflows for large quantities of unstructured data
• Monitor dataflows and underlying systems to ensure scalable and high-performance solutions
• Partner with engineering teams to deliver data-driven solutions

Requirements

• At least 4 years of relevant professional experience
• Strong understanding of distributed computing and distributed systems
• Proven experience building datalake or lakehouse architectures
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Scala, or Python (with willingness to work on JVM)
• Experience with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ
• Experience with distributed processing engines such as Flink, Spark, or Kafka Streams
• Knowledge of analytical tools like Trino, Dremio, or Impala
• Experience with table formats such as Hive, Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Hudi
• Experience with relational databases, data modeling, and scalability
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
• Strong English communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, or Redis)
• BS/MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Math
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies
• Understanding of Lambda and Kappa Architectures
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
