Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Devise and implement master data management processes for specific subsets of data
• Assess the integrity of data from multiple sources
• Provide advice on the transformation of data from one format/medium to another
• Maintain and implement information handling procedures
• Enable the availability, integrity and searchability of information through formal data and metadata structures
• Apply standard data modelling and design techniques based on requirements
• Establish, modify and maintain data structures and associated components
• Apply data engineering standards and tools to create and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes
• Carry out routine data quality checks and remediation

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in a technical subject with substantial IT content and 3 years post-related experience, or 5 years of extensive progressive experience
• Strong technical depth in modern data engineering and platform integration
• Proficiency in Python, Spark, and Kafka
• Experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and automation
• Expertise in data modelling, ontology engineering, and semantic interoperability
• Knowledge of metadata management and data governance
• Experience with data quality frameworks and validation mechanisms
• Knowledge of data platform integration and build/configuration practices
• Knowledge of federated data environments
• Valid National or NATO Secret personal security clearance

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in an international environment comprising both military and civilian elements
• Knowledge of NATO organization, internal structure, and relationships
