About the role
Responsibilities
- Provision and manage GCP environment (BigQuery) using Terraform
- Own the full data pipeline from HRIS/ATS systems to BigQuery using CData and dbt
- Build a clean, modular transformation layer including Staging, Intermediate, and Marts
- Collaborate on data strategy to ensure AI readiness and BigQuery ML compatibility
- Implement strict IAM policies, data masking, and access controls for sensitive PII
- Build performant data marts optimized for Tableau
Requirements
- 5–8+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, or technical Data Analysis
- Proven track record of building data platforms from scratch (greenfield projects)
- 3+ years of experience with version control (Git/GitHub) and CI/CD pipelines
- Expert-level SQL proficiency including window functions and performance optimization
- Strong experience building and testing dbt projects using Jinja and macros
- Hands-on experience with GCP/BigQuery governance, partitioning, and clustering
- Ability to translate HR business requirements into dimensional data models
