Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Translate requirements, estimate effort, and address or escalate blockers
• Write clean, maintainable code following design patterns and testing best practices
• Own end-to-end projects across infrastructure, application, and data tiers
• Monitor performance metrics and recommend improvements or refactors
• Participate in the full software development life cycle from design to maintenance
• Support and mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering and building big data pipelines
• 3+ years of experience in agile/Scrum environments
• Proficiency in Apache Spark
• Experience with strongly-typed languages such as Java or Scala
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs
• Proficiency with Git and version control
• Ability to write unit and integration tests

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with functional programming (Scala preferred)
• Understanding of scalable, high-performance back-end systems
• Experience with various data formats including Parquet, JSON, and XML
• Background in Cyber Security
