Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the foundational data model, including grain, slowly changing dimensions, and snapshot strategies.
• Set standards for testing, documentation, orchestration, and alerting across all data infrastructure.
• Build and operate the ingestion layer using Fivetran, dbt, and Python.
• Architect for governance by building role-based access and audit controls into the foundation.
• Partner with the Head of Data and Analytics to evaluate and execute long-term data platform migrations.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, including senior-level ownership.
• Production experience with dbt, cloud warehouses/lakehouses, and modern orchestration/ingestion tools.
• Strong dimensional modeling fundamentals (Kimball, Inmon, or hybrid) and experience with SCDs.
• Proven track record of setting standards for documentation, testing, and alerting.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building data infrastructure under regulatory constraints (RIA, broker-dealer, bank, SOC 2, or Reg S-P).
• Experience performing end-to-end warehouse consolidation or platform migrations.
• Ability to leverage AI as a force multiplier in pipeline development and debugging.
