Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the OLAP analytics layer, driving the columnar warehouse environment from ingestion to API-serving views
• Partner on the OLTP serving layer, managing high-write serving tables with sub-100ms read-path discipline
• Shape streaming and data lake infrastructure, including Kafka topic schema contracts and S3 lake layouts
• Design data models at scale for event-sourced, append-mostly data with chain-reorg semantics
• Coordinate across teams to negotiate schema contracts with downstream consumers

Requirements

• 5+ years of data engineering on production systems serving real users at scale
• Deep knowledge of OLTP/OLAP split architectures
• Expertise in columnar warehouses (ClickHouse preferred; Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, or Pinot)
• Experience with data lakes (Parquet, Iceberg, Delta, or Hudi)
• Experience with streaming pipelines (Kafka) and schema evolution
• Strong data modeling fundamentals (star/snowflake, SCD, CDC, idempotent event sourcing)
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL at scale (partitioning, index design, query planning)
• Fluency in SQL at warehouse scale
• Strong distributed systems reasoning

Preferred Qualifications

• EVM indexing experience (rindexer, subgraphs)
• Rust programming experience
• Domain knowledge in DeFi, prediction markets, or order-book systems
• Experience with observability and SLO thinking (Prometheus)
• Python for SQL tooling and ad-hoc analysis
• Track record of shipping platform migrations or greenfield data stacks
