Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain highly scalable data pipelines optimized for machine learning models and analytics
• Partner with data scientists and ML engineers to ensure data is accessible, consistent, and production-ready
• Develop and maintain APIs for data access and integration with external data services
• Manage and optimize storage solutions for structured and unstructured data, including relational, NoSQL, and object storage
• Implement data quality monitoring processes to ensure accuracy and availability for stakeholders
• Support metadata management and data governance using cataloging tools
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy policies across all systems
• Contribute to real-time and streaming data processing requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in a data engineering role
• Proficiency in Python, Java, and Scala with experience managing terabyte to petabyte scale data
• Hands-on experience with big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and Flink
• Extensive experience with AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Glue, and Lambda
• Experience with streaming platforms like Kafka or RabbitMQ
• Knowledge of containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of ETL processes, data modeling, and data warehousing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in the Fintech sector
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
• Experience with API development using RESTful or GraphQL approaches
• Familiarity with BI tools like Metabase and data cataloging tools like OpenMetadata
