Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver complex, scalable data pipelines and infrastructure components end-to-end.
• Own the technical design and implementation of data models across relational, NoSQL, and lakehouse architectures.
• Architect and optimize data flows across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Build and maintain robust orchestration workflows using tools such as Apache Airflow, dbt, or Azure Data Factory.
• Define and implement data quality frameworks, including validation rules, automated testing, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists and Analytics Engineers to ensure infrastructure meets downstream requirements.
• Lead code reviews, enforce engineering best practices, and mentor associate and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 6-8 years of progressive hands-on experience in data engineering with a track record of delivering production-grade infrastructure.
• Expert-level SQL and strong Python skills.
• Deep hands-on experience with cloud data services (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Synapse, S3, Redshift, or BigQuery).
• Advanced knowledge of data orchestration tools like Apache Airflow or dbt.
• Solid understanding of dimensional and vault data modelling techniques and lakehouse architecture.
• Experience with streaming and batch processing frameworks such as Apache Kafka or Spark.
• Proficiency in working with data warehousing platforms like Snowflake, Redshift, or Azure Synapse.

Preferred Qualifications

• ITIL Certification.
• Working knowledge of Spark, Scala, or Java.
• Experience with CI/CD practices for data pipelines.
