Senior Data Engineer I

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, and delivery
• Ensure data quality through rigorous validation and monitoring processes
• Collaborate with senior engineers to design and build scalable data solutions
• Work with business analysts to translate business requirements into technical data implementations
• Optimize data models and queries for maximum performance and efficiency
• Follow engineering best practices, participate in code reviews, and contribute to team standards
• Implement data security controls and access policies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex data pipeline issues

Requirements

• Proficient with cloud-based data platforms, specifically Snowflake and data lakehouse architecture
• Strong knowledge of the AWS ecosystem, including Lambda, Glue, and S3
• Experience with streaming architecture and event-based data concepts using Kafka
• Strong programming proficiency in Python and SQL
• Experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Hands-on experience with RDBMS such as Oracle, Postgres, or MSSQL
• Experience using workflow orchestration tools like Airflow
• Proficiency with GitHub and standard engineering verification practices
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills and effective communication abilities

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of containerization concepts
• Exposure to API development using Python-based frameworks
• Basic familiarity with Asset Management data domains and investment management industry concepts
