About the role

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and architecturally sound data pipelines and platforms.
  • Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing systems using modern big data and cloud technologies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product owners to translate complex business requirements into robust data solutions.
  • Implement data engineering processes and best-practice reviews within an Agile environment.
  • Support AI/ML initiatives by building optimized data pipelines for machine learning and feature engineering workflows.
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across enterprise data platforms.
  • Mentor junior engineers in coding standards, data engineering practices, and platform optimization.
  • Monitor and improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Expertise in programming languages including Python, Scala, SQL, and Java.
  • Strong experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Hadoop, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Proficiency with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
  • Deep understanding of ETL processes, data ingestion frameworks, and distributed computing.
  • Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data architecture.
  • Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Ability to solve complex problems through innovation, prototyping, and risk assessment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Exposure to modern AI-enabled engineering practices, including automation and AI-assisted development tools.
  • Experience with AI/ML data pipelines and supporting infrastructure for analytics.
