About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and architecturally sound data pipelines and platforms.
- Build and optimize batch and real-time data processing systems using modern big data and cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and product owners to translate complex business requirements into robust data solutions.
- Implement data engineering processes and best-practice reviews within an Agile environment.
- Support AI/ML initiatives by building optimized data pipelines for machine learning and feature engineering workflows.
- Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance across enterprise data platforms.
- Mentor junior engineers in coding standards, data engineering practices, and platform optimization.
- Monitor and improve data pipeline performance, scalability, and operational efficiency.
Requirements
- Expertise in programming languages including Python, Scala, SQL, and Java.
- Strong experience with big data technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Hadoop, Databricks, and Snowflake.
- Proficiency with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Deep understanding of ETL processes, data ingestion frameworks, and distributed computing.
- Strong knowledge of data modeling, schema design, and data architecture.
- Experience with relational SQL and NoSQL databases.
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ability to solve complex problems through innovation, prototyping, and risk assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Exposure to modern AI-enabled engineering practices, including automation and AI-assisted development tools.
- Experience with AI/ML data pipelines and supporting infrastructure for analytics.
