Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and optimize scalable data pipelines, transformations, and data models
• Own end-to-end delivery of data engineering initiatives from design to production
• Write and tune complex SQL queries and Python-based pipeline code
• Drive engineering best practices including CI/CD, automated testing, and observability
• Lead data architecture and design decisions for new data products
• Collaborate with data scientists and analytics engineers to deliver high-quality data products
• Support data quality monitoring, validation, and governance principles

Requirements

• 4–7 years of experience in data engineering
• Expertise with Databricks and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Deep proficiency in SQL, data modeling, and Python
• Experience with version control using GitHub
• Experience with DBT (data build tool) is a strong plus
• Experience with code-first orchestration tools like Airflow or Databricks Asset Bundles
• Understanding of CI/CD principles and automated testing
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with Databricks Asset Bundles (DABs)
• Interest in leveraging AI-enabled development tools like Claude Code or Cursor
