Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines from source to insight
• Own data modelling decisions including schemas and infrastructure
• Partner with machine learning, product, and platform teams to ensure data accessibility
• Apply AI tools to improve development velocity
• Champion data quality through validation, monitoring, and alerting
• Define and evolve data practices and standards across the organization
• Mentor other engineers through design conversations and code reviews
• Contribute to the reliability, freshness, and testing strategies of data systems

Requirements

• Strong experience building and maintaining mission-critical data pipelines
• Solid grasp of batch and streaming patterns
• Understanding of data engineering best practices (modelling, transformation, orchestration)
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS (Athena, S3, Kinesis, SQS, SNS)
• Ability to build observable, testable, and debuggable systems
• Product-minded approach to engineering
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and make pragmatic decisions
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
