Senior Data Engineer

Responsibilities

• Own the design and development of end-to-end data solutions for Oracle-based systems
• Provide technical oversight to a small team of data engineers during project delivery
• Create and maintain efficient ETL data pipelines and implement data quality controls
• Integrate Oracle systems with modern cloud services, specifically AWS S3 and related technologies
• Collaborate with Data Architects to define long-term data strategy and translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Lead code reviews and support the migration of data from legacy systems to cloud-based solutions
• Work within an Agile framework, participating in sprint planning, refinement, and retrospectives

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience with Oracle databases and advanced SQL development
• Proven experience leading a team of engineers to solve business problems via data solutions
• Strong knowledge of data modeling principles and database design
• Proficiency with Python for data processing and automation
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot)
• Experience with version control systems, preferably Git/GitHub
• Demonstrated ability to work within Agile development methodologies
• Strong ability to reverse engineer complex database schemas and relationships

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PL/SQL development, including stored procedures, functions, and packages
• Knowledge of AWS services such as Lambda and Step Functions
• Experience with ETL tools like Informatica and Control-M
• Unix shell scripting skills for automation
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database code
• Knowledge of investment management industry concepts (security/fund reference data, transactions, holdings)
